Ryan "Bubba" Quimby, 19 years of age. Was a recent graduate
of Tombstone High School where he played football for the Yellow
Jackets. While in high school he earned his Eagle Scout award.
While attending THS he also played football alongside his
father, Eric Quimby for the Cochise County Cavaliers in the
AzFL. From there he went on to earn a spot on the football team
at EAC, Eastern Arizona College. He was part of the Gila
Monsters 9-2 season in 2007.
His life was tragically taken in accident on a country road
while he was sleeping in the back seat of a car, headed home to
go fishing with his dad. The night before he had told his dad he
loved him and would see him tomorrow. Ryan and I were talking
after a game one day, talking about our favorite players in the
sport. He wasted no time telling me his favorite player, his
hero was his dad.
Memorial Services will be held for him Saturday June, 21 2008 at Keeline Field in Huachuca City. A place where he spent so much
time as an athlete growing up. Then as a coach and umpire for
the youth leagues from Huachuca City, Sierra Vista and the
surrounding communities.
Donations are being taken in his name at any Wells Fargo Bank.
They will be used for scholarships for young me like Ryan. His
father will be providing more details as soon as he gets the
chance.
Check as we add more to honor his memory...
