#70 Jaime Sierra
OL Tucson Soul Patrol - Arizona Football League 2010

The 19 year old is playing offensive line for the Tucson Soul Patrol in the AzFL Arizona Football League 2010 season. He is a graduate of Tucson Sunnyside High School, home of the Blue Devils.

I was fortunate to get him to appear on the broadcast and talk about his athletic career and goals. He was picked up by the Pima Community College, the Aztecs and will be playing for them in the 2010 fall football season.

He is a very focused young man with a plan to obtain a college degree and begin his career in a few short years. When we caught up with him on Saturday, March 20, 2010, he had played a game with the Soul Patrol that morning and was with his younger relatives whom he took to a WWE event in Tucson.

Some background info on Mr. Sierra: While in high school he wrestled for three years, all State Champion teams for the Blue Devils and won the State Championship at 285 pounds. He posted nearly 100 wins and placed in the top rounds of one of the largest high school invitational tournaments in America. The Reno Tournament of Champions has over 280 schools in it.

As a freshman football player at Sunnyside he was one of 80 players on the frosh team. He was one of 10 called up to the Varsity squad once the freshman season ended. He then spent the next three years on a Varsity team that was in the playoffs every season.

He has not been idle since graduating high school in 2009. He missed going to Dubuque, Iowa to college to play football and wrestle due to issues with getting things in place. He has spent his time training, and playing for the Soul Patrol to keep his skills fresh and stay on film.

After being contacted to try out for the Pima football team, and succeeding, he is now preparing to start Spring football with the Aztecs.

I have met a lot of young, talented athletes, all capable of extending their football playing careers. Many have big dreams. Mr. Sierra has those dreams and he is working hard to do all the things that are required of him to accomplish them.

Family and friends matter to him. He is also taking the time, doing the work to make all that he does, matter, for today and for the future.

We will be following Mr. Sierra as he starts on his journey and keep you updated. His on air interview can be found online soon at ASPN Radio along with others.

The Arizona Football League AzFL www.azfl.com began in 1995 and is a Club Amateur 11 adult tackle league that is designed for both young players that are working at returning to college and for older players just wanting to play again.
