Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.

Cats Ground Rockets

Hope was high for Toledo after they saw the score from the Idaho vs. Arizona game of 70-0 on opening weekend for the Cats. Hope was high because they hoped such a lopsided win by UA might be cause for the overconfident Blue and Red to be caught Catnapping.

The Rockets found some solace in a loss, a loss in which they did not get shut out and one in which the score was respectable for both teams. The 41-16 Arizona win allowed Toledo to play some football and it gave Arizona some good things to take away from the game as well.

Things like a 2-0 record, the first since 2002 for them. It starts UA QB Willie Tuitama off on a record setting pace for passing yards and stats. It brings back memories of a devastating defense from the past named the “Desert Swarm”.

Impressive no matter whom the Cats are their Red Zone efficiency. In 20 visits there they scored 13 touchdowns and 2 field goals. Nice.  That defense, it has only given up 218 yards in the air and has 4 interceptions.

It has been a long time coming but now when you say the Wildcats fans bleed Red, it will be a good thing. The coaches need this, the players need this, and the University needs this. But more importantly the city of Tucson needs this, this new found pride and hope that Coach Stoops and his boys are bringing to the Old Pueblo.  Bear Down Wildcats… Next a road trip and some payback in New Mexico and the Lobos.
