Jeff was a guest on my Monday thru
Friday 8-8:30 AM show Amazing Performances on KXXT 1010
AM. The topic was his book, "Boys will be Boys, the
glory days and party nights of the Dallas Cowboys
Dynasty. We spoke of the team, coaches, owner and
players. Jeff Pearlman is writer that tells a story from
the inside out. In other words, he is speaking with and
through the people he writes about, the truth. A rare
talent indeed in these days of "make it up and prove me
wrong" sensationalism style journalism.
Love or hate the Cowboys, this book is a must read from
the bi-polar Charles Haley, the over-rated Deion
Sanders, workhorse-addicted Michael Irving, lucky Larry
Brown, Mr. dedicated Troy Aikman, Emmitt Smith or the
coaches, Jimmy Johnson, Barry Switzer and how they got
along with Jerry Jones the new Boy in town with his new
Toy, the Dallas Cowboys.
It is an intense but easy read. He interviewed over a
100 Cowboys staff and players and provides riveting
accounts of some of the biggest games in Cowboys
history.
I highly recommend his book. But don’t take my word for
it; visit his website to see what others have to say
about his work. People like:
