Choosing to Choose -
Peace in a Troubled World.
|
Jaime Smith works
everyday at NAU, Northern Arizona
University and deals with young people
and their parents as they prepare to
attend college. She is a former state
champion cheerleader from Phoenix
Christian High School (2000). As a
sophomore at NAU she decided to become
the owner/operator of a new Club
Football teams, the Flagstaff Hitmen in
the Arizona Football League AzFL. The
experience with the team, graduating
college and now working at NAU have
helped shape her outlook and focus. |
We spoke of course of the
snow that is coming down relentlessly on this
day. We also talked about the distractions young
people face with so many things to see, hear, do
and serve. Jaime was quick to point out that you
will be distracted if you choose to chase those
things. She said also that life is hard, she has
been through ups and downs, been very sad, but
always knew that God loved her. Through it all
she chose to go back to the Lord for her peace..
No matter your age, if you
are trying to balance life, work, family,
parents and the multitude of time starving tasks
facing us each day the you should hear her

She is not alone and her
husband Jeremiah Smith shares her faith and
approach to peace. Both attend church at Christ
Church of Flagstaff. Jeremiah is originally from
Wyoming and grew up close to the earth as a
hunter, fisherman, horseman and country boy. He
too has overcome great obstacles on a personal
level and chosen to live in peace and give the
glory to his Lord Jesus Christ.

Jeremiah Smith is the Head
Coach for the Flagstaff High School Eagles
varsity football team. He also is co-owner and
Head Coach of the Flagstaff Hitmen. He has
worked with young people in the Flagstaff area
for years and had been the JV coach for years
before taking over the varsity in 2008. He has a
goal to help those players that want to go to
college, to get there.
|
The Flagstaff Hitmen team is possible because
of the efforts of the team owners Jeremiah and
Jaime Smith they play in the
Arizona Football League AzFL for the season
that starts in January and runs through May of
2009.
